Matt Reed - Freshman Manager
 
Coach Reed   Matt comes to Souhegan High School with over 15 years of baseball experience. Matt was a 2008 graduate of Souhegan High School. He played under Coach Bill Dod for three seasons at the varsity level, two as the starting catcher. He was a Class I 3rd team all-state selection his senior year. He was a part of the 2006 NHIAA semi-finalist team that lost to current Pittsburgh Pirate pitcher Jeff Locke. 

Matt was known for having the willingness to play all over the field. Matt also played football at Souhegan as a quarterback during his time at the school from 2004-2008. He started in 2006 and 2007 where he became the first quarterback in school history to pass for over 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons. He currently holds the school record for rushing yards by a quarterback. He went on to play college football from 2008-2010 in which he attended Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH and Castleton State College in Rutland, Vermont. He spent time playing quarterback and wide receiver. He also played one season of college baseball in 2010 at Castleton State College. That team advanced to the NCAA regional’s and came within two victories of a Division III College World Series appearance. Currently, Matt is studying in his senior year at Southern New Hampshire University where he is majoring in Sports Management. 

Matt aspires to coach in collegiate athletics one day. To this point he comes in with a couple years of experience. He spent the spring of 2009 as a Varsity Baseball assistant, coaching the catcher at Souhegan. Currently, he is coaching football at Souhegan mainly working with the freshman team and quarterbacks. This season Matt will become a head coach for the first time, managing the Freshman Baseball team.
