Bill Dod - Varsity Manager
 
  Coach Bill Dod is a graduate of Sanborn Seminary in Kingston, NH where he played football, cross country, basketball and baseball. As a junior, Sanborn Indians' baseball team defeated Kennett in the finals. He's a
Springfield College graduate where he played three years on the basketball team and was the manager of the baseball team for four years. A Master's Degree was earned in Education Administration from Rivier College.
 

In 1968, Coach Dod began his coaching career at Bishop Guertin where he coached cross country, freshmen basketball and outdoor track. 

The following three years he coached the Sanborn Regional High School baseball team to a 49 and 18 record with appearances in the Class M finals and semi finals. He also coached the varsity football, varsity soccer, and junior varsity basketball teams and was the school's athletic director.

Coach Dod returned to Bishop Guertin for a 16 year tenure, coaching football, freshmen basketball and was the head baseball coach for 13 years where the Cardinals qualified for the state Class L tournament 11 of 13 seasons - semi-final appearances in 1980 - 1982, 1984, 1987 and 1988 . Winning the state title in 1982 and 1987 and was runner-up in 1984 for a record of record 203-158. He served as the school's athletic director for 12 years.

The following four years were at Milford Area Senior High School where he served as the assistant principal and two years had the added responsibilities as athletic director. The Spartans had a 4 year record of 10-45 and qualified for the state tournament in 1990.

In 1992 Souhegan High School opened and for thirteen years Coach Dod has been the athletic director and varsity baseball coach. He also coached the Varsity Girls' Basketball team in 1997-1998 to a 17-6 record, reaching the Class I semi finals.

Over the past fifteen years the Souhegan varsity baseball team has posted a record of 179 - 114 and qualified for the Class I tournament in 1993-1999 and 2001 - 2007 with a semi final appearance in 1997 and 2006, the CLASS I CHAMPIONS in 2003 and the CLASS I RUNNER UP in 2004.

Coach Dod's overall baseball coaching record entering 2005 is 441 - 335. Coach Dod current leads the active coaching ranks with 37 years coaching baseball. The 441 victories is third in New Hampshire all time wins. Some of the honors received throughout Bill's career are:

  • FIVE TIMES NAMED CLASS I ATHLETIC DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR (INCLUDING MOST RECENT SELECTION IN 2006)

  • 1987 OSCAR MEYER NATIONAL COACH OF THE YEAR

  • NEW HAMPSHIRE COACHES ASSOCIATION BASEBALL COACH OF THE YEAR - (1982 AND 1987)

  • NEW HAMPSHIRE'S BASEBALL COACHES' ASSOCIATION CLASS I COACH OF THE YEAR - (2003)

  • 2001 NEW HAMPSHIRE ATHLETIC DIRECTORS ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

  • NEW HAMPSHIRE COACHES HALL OF FAME

  • MANCHESTER UNION HALL OF FAME

  • 2006 INDUCTION INTO THE NHIAA HALL OF FAME
