Souhegan Baseball Athlete of the Month

 
Each month of the baseball season, the Souhegan Baseball Coaching Staff honors a player for the PLAYER OF THE MONTH HONORS.  The individual is one who represents the baseball and athletic program in a positive manner on and off the baseball field.

Justin Pelletier has been selected by the Souhegan High School baseball fans and a blue ribbon committee through our online voting as the Souhegan High School Baseball Athlete of the Month. Justin batted .349 (22 hits), .460 slugging percent and .414 on base average. He scored 11 runs, drove in 16 runs and stole 2 bases. His leadership with the pitching staff was excellent and his defensive play made the defensive team stronger. During one stretch, he threw out 7 straight runners attempting to steal second. He was selected to the Class I second team all state.

Mike Piekielek has been selected by the Souhegan High School baseball fans and a blue ribbon committee through our online voting as the Souhegan High School Baseball Athlete of the Month. The athletes are considered for their commitment to team, their commitment to the game of baseball, their sportsmanship on the field, and their commitment to scholastics. Mike posted a 2 wins and 0 losses on the mound during the month of April. In 2 games, 13.67 innings, Mike's ERA is 0.51 with 13 strike outs and 6 base on balls. Mike batted .667 for the month of April with 7 runs scored, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run and 3 rbi.

Alex Manoogian has been selected by the blue ribbon committee and online voting as the Souhegan High School Baseball Athlete of the Month. The athletes were considered for their commitment to team, their commitment to the game of baseball, their sportsmanship on the field, and their commitment to scholastics. Alex batted .477, 11 rbi and 20 runs scored and his glove at second base was excellent. (Alex had an outstanding game against Milford. He was 2 for 4 against Milford. In the bottom of the sixth, Alex drove in the game winning run (Andrew Paladino) with an rbi single which was the margin of victory. Alex had six assists against Con-Val. A 2 for 4 performance, a run scored and two rbi in Stevens victory. In the Hollis Brookline victory, Alex had 6 assists. Alex hit a two run home run in the WOODEN BAT game vs Merrimack Valley, he went 3 for 4, 2 rbi, scored a run and stole a base against Oyster River and Alex was four for four, scored 2 runs, 1 rbi and stole 2 bases vs Coe Brown )

Senior pitcher-third baseman Anthony Aubrey has been selected by the blue ribbon committee as the Souhegan High School Player of the Month. The athletes were considered for their commitment to team, their commitment to the game of baseball, their sportsmanship on the field, and their commitment to scholastics. Anthony has posted a season record of 2 wins and a loss on the mound. He has completed three games (21 innings pitched), struck out 9, walked 2 and has an ERA of 2.00. His defensive play at third base has been excellent.
