2017 Varsity Player of the Week
 
Each week of the baseball season, the Souhegan Baseball Coaching Staff honors a player for the PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS. The individual is one who represents team and the athletic program in a positive manner on and off the baseball field.

Each week, the Souhegan baseball team names a Player of the Week. In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The Twelfth PLAYER OF THE WEEK (week of June 5, 2017) for the 2017 season is presented to George Carlson. George is a senior who plays first base and catcher. He is a four year member of the varsity baseball team. During his tenure with the varsity, George has done anything and everything to assist his teammates and coaching staff. A total team first individual, George finds ways to bring success to the program. Where ever George goes he brings a positive attitude and a never quit smile.

Each week, the Souhegan baseball team names a Player of the Week. In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The Eleventh PLAYER OF THE WEEK (week of May 29, 2017) for the 2017 season is presented to Dylan Morneau. Dylan is a senior who began the season as one of the TOP Souhegan pitcher. A severe back injury ended his playing season before the season even started. Instead of vanishing from the program due to his injury, Dylan became the teamís photographer taking almost 10,000 and documenting the season and preparing a power point program for the upcoming end of season banquet.

Each week, the Souhegan baseball team names a Player of the Week. In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The Tenth PLAYER OF THE WEEK (week of May 15, 2017) for the 2017 season is presented to Jacob Grassett. Jacob is a sophomore who plays third base and is one of the teamís starting pitchers. Last week, Jacob pitched an outstanding game against the Goffstown Grizzles. The Souhegan Sabers and the G0ffstown Grizzles were tied for second place in the Division II standings with this final regular season game the deciding factor. Jacob pitched an outstanding game to help the Souhegan past Goffstown 5 to 3. With his infield play, Jacob is part of an outstanding team defense, one of the Sabers team strengths.

Each week, the Souhegan baseball team names a Player of the Week. In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The Ninth PLAYER OF THE WEEK (week of May 8, 2017) for the 2017 season is presented to Tucker Aiello. Tucker is a senior, co-captain who plays second base and is one of the teamís top starting pitchers. Last week Tucker excelled in all areas of the game of baseball. Tucker Aiello pitched a complete game victory against the Con-Val Cougars. His play at second base was flawless and has been a key factor to the outstanding team defense the Sabers have shown game in and game out. Batting in the sixth slot in the line-up, Tucker has added depth to the batting order. Last week, Tucker hit a grand slam home run vs Lebanon. With his consistent play, Tucker has bolstered the overall play of the Sabers.

In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The Eighth PLAYER OF THE WEEK (week of May 1, 2017) for the 2017 season is presented to Daniel Trzepacz. Daniel is a freshmen who has played first base, left field, pitched and the designated hitter for the Souhegan Baseball team. Danielís left handed bat added depth to the deep Saber line-up. His highlight game was a three for three performance vs Pelham.

Each week, the Souhegan baseball team names a Player of the Week. In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The Seventh PLAYER OF THE WEEK (week of May 1, 2017) for the 2017 season is presented to Ryan Hill. Ryan is a senior, centerfielder for the Souhegan Baseball team. Through hard work, Ryan has developed into an outstanding defensive outfielder. Ryan has solidified the Sabers outfield into a strength of the Souhegan defense. A highlight came in the Pelham game as Ryan made an outstanding catch running down a ball in right center and then he fired a strike to first base to double off the runner and end the contest. As a hitter, Ryan has been consistently on base either by a base on balls or a hit. He has stimulated the Saber offense and has moved to the top of the batting order and helps ignite the teamís offense.

Each week, the Souhegan baseball team names a Player of the Week. In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The Sixth PLAYER OF THE WEEK (week of April 24, 2017) for the 2017 season is presented to Caelan Behn. Caelan is a junior, catcher for the Souhegan Baseball team. From the first day of practice, Caelan had dedicated his efforts to both his catching skills and techniques and the support of the Saber pitching staff. This work ethic has been the key to Caelan play behind the plate and the developed of the entire pitching Corp and the successes the Souhegan Sabers are having in the 2017 season

Each week, the Souhegan baseball team names a Player of the Week. In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The Fifth PLAYER OF THE WEEK (week of April 17, 2017) for the 2017 season is presented to Max Leonard. Max is a junior, relief pitcher for the Souhegan Baseball team. Max has worked hard from the first day of the 2017 practice sessions. Max has pitched appeared in two games. Throwing four innings, striking out six with a 3.50 ERA. He has earned a win and a save, both in relief. His presence has strengthened the Saber pitching staff. Maxís continued dedication and hard work will be important to the developed of the overall Souhegan pitching staff.

In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The Fourth PLAYER OF THE WEEK (week of April 10, 2017) for the 2017 season is presented to Bryce Reagan. Bryce is a junior, shortstop and one of the team captains. Bryce is an outstanding defensive shortstop leading an outstanding SABERS team defense. The leadoff hitter on the potent Souhegan offense attach, Bryce adds both speed, average and power to the teamís offensive attach.

Each week, the Souhegan baseball team names a Player of the Week. In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The Third PLAYER OF THE WEEK (week of April 3, 2017) for the 2017 season is presented to Alec Burns. Alec is a junior, first baseman, third baseman and pitcher. Alec strengthens the Souhegan defense whether he plays first or third. He has a strong glove and excellent arm. He has worked hard during the off season to be one of the Sabers starting pitchers. At the plate he will bat third and his presence in the lineup makes the top third of the order explosive.

Each week, the Souhegan baseball team names a Player of the Week. In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The Second PLAYER OF THE WEEK (week of March 27, 2017) for the 2017 season is presented to Max Benevides. Max is a senior, right fielder and one of the teamís captains. Max has worked hard through the Fall and Winter to prepare for the upcoming season. He will be a major contributor to the Souhegan offensive attack batting in the middle of the order. In a recent preseason doubleheader in Connecticut, Maxís bat was instrumental to the Sabers attack. As a right fielder, Max has been a solid defensive player for the strong Saber defense. Max demonstrates an outstanding work either that has his teammates follow his path.

Each week, the Souhegan baseball team names a Player of the Week. In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The First PLAYER OF THE WEEK (week of March 20, 2017) for the 2017 season is presented to Owen Batchelder. Owen is a senior, pitcher /centerfielder. Owen makes a major positive impact on the Souhegan Baseball program each and every day due to his outstanding leadership. As one of the teamís captains, Owen leads through his outstanding work ethic. Owenís presence at practice brings a positive atmosphere to promote the entire team to work and to prepare for the competitive Division II season.
