the baseball season, the Souhegan Baseball Coaching Staff honors a
player for the PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS. The individual is one
who represents team and the athletic program in a positive manner on and
off the baseball field.

Tyler Ford, 5/13/2012

Each week, the Souhegan baseball team names a Player of the Week. In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The eighth PLAYER OF THE WEEK for the 2012 season was presented to Tyler Ford. Tyler is a junior, shortstop. During the past week, Tyler has solidified the Souhegan infield with hi strong play at shortstop. His play has been very consistent at shortstop and has brought the play of the team defense to a higher level. At the plate, Tyler gives the team a quality at bat in every time at the plate. He competes with the pitcher and never gives in. Tyler brings a workman's approach to the game. He plays to his highest level in each pitch whether it be on defense or at the plate. His blue collar style spreads throughout the team.

Eric Howard, 5/6/2012

Each week, the Souhegan baseball team names a Player of the Week. In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The seventh PLAYER OF THE WEEK for the 2012 season was presented to Eric Howard. Eric is a senior, pitcher / outfielder. During the past week, Eric had an outstanding pitching performance against Windham. A left-handed hitter, Eric has been added a dimension to the Souhegan offense attach. On the outfield, Eric's speed, strong arm and solid glove has helped to make the Souhegan defensive outfield a strength of the team defense. Eric's work ethic is outstanding. His desire for the team to be successful is a characteristic which spreads throughout the team.

Each week, the Souhegan baseball team names a Player of the Week. In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The sixth PLAYER OF THE WEEK for the 2012 season was presented to Robby McCormick. Robby is a senior, pitcher / rightfielder. During the past week, Robby batted .333 (2 for 6) and scored two runs. On Wednesday, Robby shut out John Stark, allowing only two hits while striking out seven and walking two. Robby brings a positive approach to all he does and this up beat attitude spreads throughout the team.

Tim Beliveau, 4/22/2012

Each week, the Souhegan baseball team names a Player of the Week. In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The fifth PLAYER OF THE WEEK for the 2012 season was presented to Tim Beliveau. Tim is a senior, firstbaseman. During the past week, Tim batted .419 (3 for 7). In the Milford game, Tim started the Souhegan scoring with a solo home run to put the Sabers up 1-0. In the top of the seventh, Tim hit his second solo home run of the day to straight away center field to tie the game at 3-3 before the Sabers completed the comeback with another seventh inning run. In the Con-Val contest, Tim's lead off double led a second inning rally. In addition to his bat, Tim works daily on his defensive play to strength the over all team defense. Tim is an individual who is a team leader who demonstrates his desire for the team's success by his work ethic and positive approach to everything he does on and off the field.

Each week, the Souhegan baseball team names a Player of the Week. In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The fourth PLAYER OF THE WEEK for the 2012 season was presented to Chris Chininis. Chris is a senior, centerfield and lead off hitter. Chris is an outstanding defensive centerfield who utilizes his speed to turn doubles into fly ball outs resting in his glove. As the lead off hitter, Chris starts the Sabers offense. In the first two games of the season, Chris batter .667 (4 for 6), was hit twice, stole three bases and scored three runs. He his supportive leadership to the field each day to help the team move toward its goal of qualifying for the Division II post season tournament.

Tyler Hansis, 4/8/2012

Each week, the Souhegan baseball team names a Player of the Week. In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The third PLAYER OF THE WEEK for the 2012 season was presented to Tyler Hansis. Tyler is a senior, thirdbaseman / designated hitter / pitcher. Tyler adds depth to the Sabers as demonstrated on his successful Spring trip to Bradenton, Florida. On the trip, he displayed the ability to play thirdbase, left field, designate hit and pitch. In the two preseason games in Florida, Tyler played well in all three areas from his clutch hitter to solid defensive play and his close down pitching. Tyler brings a big smile to practice and games.

In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The second PLAYER OF THE WEEK for the 2012 season was presented to Bobby Graham. Bobby is a senior, thirdbaseman / pitcher. Bobby had an outstanding scrimmage against Laconia, pitching one strong inning, field well at thirdbase and hitting the ball hard three times at the plate. His passion for baseball and his teammates is demonstrated ever time he takes the field.

In addition to demonstrating outstanding baseball skills in practices and games, the individual is a role model on and off the baseball field. The first PLAYER OF THE WEEK for the 2012 season was presented to Peter Bennett. Peter is a junior outfielder. His off season preparation and the combination of his dedication to the success of the team, his passion for the game of baseball and his work ethic demonstration throughout the first week of practice was an important ingredient to assisting the team's outstanding first week of practice.
