James Mangan, SHS Class of '99 - James resettled in South Korea, playing on a local men's team as the only foreigner. I continue to play America's pastime in adult life, something I hope the student-athletes will see and remember as they age.

James Mangan, South Korea!

My team, Gangneung Family, is part of an amateur league based in Gangneung, Korea. I'm looking forward to the season as the team's primary starting pitcher. My teammates have shown me lots of support, and despite barriers in language, the love of the game is what brings us together (at 7am every Sunday).

I work at an after-school academy teaching English to students aged 10-16. I've met a wonderful Korean woman, and she and I will be married this spring. Teaching English abroad has allowed me wonderful opportunities, and I hope its something that the students will consider, especially after they graduate from college. Coincidentally, Jamie Chevalier is also in the country, teaching in Seoul, as his brother Mark had done before.
